I have played competitive tennis since I was 10 years old, and eventually started working on a business with one of my coaches in 2014. The company, Diadem Sports, creates and sells sports equipment. Diadem was a startup company, so my coach and I put in a lot of work for the company. This included manufacturing, packaging, shipping, running the social media, and even recruiting a team of players to help out when he went out of town. Helping lead a startup company was so fulfilling, and it helped me decide that I want to work with a startup when I’m older. Watching the company grow to an international one made me super excited for my future in the business world.
Given I was only 14 at the time, I still had so much to learn, and that is why I’m enrolled in ENT3003! I want to develop my skills as an entrepreneur and use the tools this class gives to benefit my career. I believe I will learn a lot this semester, and am very excited for the course!

Taylor,
ReplyDeleteI think it is amazing you were provided the opportunity to work with a business at such a young age. I believe having that exposure and knowing that a business can succeeded as such a high level can definitely inspire and motivate someone else to start up their own business and want to do it all over again.
